CAB 5: This is a Rehearsal  has concluded. CAB 5 exhibitions were on view at the Chicago Cultural Center, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, the James R. Thompson Center, and the Chicago Architecture Center from November 1, 2023 through February 11, 2024.

Additionally, CAB 5 had installations at sites across the city, including 5401 S Prairie (Norman Teague), the Chicago Tool Library (Could Be Design), Community Christian Alternative Academy (Practice Landscape), Devon Ave (SpaceShift Collective), DuSable Pointe Park (Carol Ross Barney, Ryan Gann, and the DuSable Park Design Alliance), the Floating Museum Studio (Edra Soto), Grow Greater Englewood (Feda Wardak),  Joffrey Ballet (Jan Tichy), the Neubauer Collegium (Gelitin),  Oakwood Beach (House of Kapwa), South Side Community Art Center, and Urban Growers Collective (David Benjamin/ The Living).

Located next to Millennium Park in the heart of downtown, the Chicago Cultural Center serves as the main venue for the Biennial, with over 70,000 square feet of exhibition space.

Hours: 10:00 am- 5:00pm daily

Admission: Free and open to the public; no tickets required

The Chicago Cultural Center building is closed Christmas Day Dec 25 and New Year’s Day Jan 1.

Public Programs

The Chicago Architecture Biennial’s public programs explore issues at the heart of urban experience and architectural practice. These events invite dialogue about how we engage the world we live in. More than 100 organizations across Chicago partner with the Biennial, serving as host venues and producing independent exhibitions and programs throughout the neighborhoods.
