Living with Mies: From Home to Photo
About the program
Experience an exclusive and intimate artist-led tour of Mies van der Rohe designed apartments, showcased in the extraordinary exhibition “Living with Mies” by artist Arina Daehnick at the Edith Farnsworth House. Join us on this captivating journey into the heart of Mies’ architectural masterpieces, where Daehnick’s lens skillfully captures the symbiotic relationship between the residents and their living spaces. Immerse yourself in the stories of those who call these iconic apartments home and gain a deeper appreciation for the profound impact of architecture on our daily lives. This exceptional tour, led by the artist herself and Dirk Lohan, Mies van der Rohe’s grandson, promises an unforgettable exploration of the interplay between art, architecture, and human experience. The tour starts at the American Medical Association for remarks by Daehnick. After a tour of the lobby by Lohan, who helped furnish it, guests will have lunch at Travelle at the Langham (included in the ticket price). Guests will then be driven to 860-800 and 900 Lake Shore Drive to be invited into units.
