Inam Kula is an architect and activist based in Cape Town. She approaches urban planning and design in post-Apartheid South Africa as an opportunity for integration and decolonization. Her work as a student and as an architect seeks to address the relationship between space and power and to confront uses of architecture that create and reinforce systems of marginalization and exclusion. She holds an honors degree in architecture from the University of Cape Town and is currently pursuing a master’s in architecture. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in planning from the University of Witwatersrand, Johnannesburg.
