About the program

The Wrigley Building: The Making of an Icon

at Kaplan Institute at Illinois Tech

Tellabs, 3137 S Federal St, Chicago, IL 60616

The Wrigley Building is one of Chicago’s most emblematic landmarks—a gleaming white palazzo at the head of the city’s grandest boulevard, Michigan Avenue. Join Chicago Humanities for a panel discussion with the Chicago-based creatives behind the new book The Wrigley Building: The Making of an Icon, as they unveil fresh perspectives on this architectural marvel. The panel will offer a fascinating social history that illuminates the building’s significance—not merely as a structural landmark, but as a nexus of Chicago’s cultural, social, and business evolution.

Panelists include photographer William Zbaren, writer Robert Sharoff, cultural historian Tim Samuelson, and architect and historian John Vinci. The conversation will be moderated by writer and editor Alison Cuddy.

This event is presented by Chicago Humanities as part of its day-long series of programs at Illinois Tech.
