This exhibition features student work from Columbia College Chicago’s Interior Architecture program, responding to the 2025 Chicago Architecture Biennial theme: “Shift: Architecture in Times of Radical Change.” Through speculative projects and site-specific investigations, students examine the evolving role of design in more just, accessible, and ecologically responsive environments.

This is more than an academic showcase. It’s a collective invitation to reconsider who architecture is for, and who gets to participate in its making. Students grapple with critical cultural, social, and environmental issues as they explore how space operates as a site of identity, power, and transformation.

The exhibition represents a student-led vision for architecture in radical times—one that prioritizes access, agency, and collective action in shaping our future . . .

Presented by the Interior Architecture Program at Columbia College Chicago. Curated by Rene King and Rebecca Midden.
