About the program

Mobilize Chicago Summit for Inclusive Street Futures

at Fine Arts Building

410 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60605

The inaugural Mobilize Chicago Summit is a half-day gathering that blends art, design, and civic dialogue to envision people-first streets. The program kicks off with a conversation featuring leaders from the Chicago Department of Transportation, Equiticity, and Metropolitan Planning Council. Afternoon activities include a hands-on design workshop, participatory budgeting simulation facilitated by UIC’s Great Cities Institute alongside representatives from the 1st Ward, and the creation of a participatory community installation.

More than a traditional conference, Mobilize Chicago treats the summit as a public intervention, opening space for participants to step into the role of co-creator, build community, and contribute to more inclusive, community-rooted visions for urban life. Residents, artists, advocates, designers, students, and the curious are warmly invited to join—no prior experience needed.

Free with RSVP. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees. The day closes with a raffle of bike gear and other prizes.
