The NPHM’s mission is to preserve, promote, and propel the right of all people to a place where they can live and prosper—a place to call home. Offering transformative programs that connect the past with contemporary issues of social justice and human rights since 2007, the museum’s permanent home opened in early 2025 at the historic Jane Addams Homes at 919 South Ada Street in Chicago’s Near West Side. The Chicago-based architecture office LBBA was in charge of the renovation of the significant structure.
During this event, Lisa Yun Lee, Executive Director and Chief Curator, and Peter Landon, founder and principal of LBBA, will guide the tour providing insights into the work of the National Public Housing Museum and its permanent home. This event is a private tour by invitation only.
