TEN
Zürich, Switzerland
TEN is an architecture organization working on the principle that value is an outcome of design effort. Its engagement with public themes and open research on the built environment is shaped by a common statute. TEN is composed of a registered association, a share company, and an informal collective, providing new formats for interdependent collaboration. It aims to conceive, explore, and produce architecture that both states and expands upon emerging practices. Its focus lies on working within real socio-political contingencies through prototyping, urban propositions, open research, and design as dialogue. This work plays out with collaborators, institutional partners, not-for-profit organizations, and private clients. TEN is currently developing models for affordable living, with particular focus on the value of common spaces and new tools for creative collaboration. It practices this through invited studies, prequalified competitions, and self-initiated collaborations. Its members are regularly invited to competitions, public events, and academic platforms for their contributions to architecture and its role in society.

Project Overview
House for Five Women
House for Five Women provides housing for women who have survived war, violence, and social injustice. The project creates a supportive model of care and mutual aid, where residents live together with both privacy and the freedom to shape their own spaces. Five equal private rooms open onto a spacious common area that extends into a shaded porch. Above, a long multipurpose loft accommodates seasonal activities, food storage, or new residents, allowing the house to adapt to changing needs.
