Studio Urbane Strategien engages with the transformation of the built environment through design, research, and teaching. Working across urban planning, architecture, and landscape architecture, the studio designs “dynamically” stable structures for sustainable coexistence between flora, fauna, and humans. Its work spans urban transformation strategies, master planning, housing, and temporary public space activations, always involving local communities. Founded by Martina Baum in 2008 and co-led by Markus Vogl since 2020, the studio operates as a conceptual platform for spatial discourse. Guided by the principles of curare and reparare, it centers on everyday spaces, the public realm, and the commons. Projects like Fullness & Emptiness, Polyvalent Everyday Places, and Täglich exemplify this ethos. The studio has received multiple awards and exhibited internationally, including at IABR (2016) and the São Paulo Biennale (2019).
