Project Overview
he Territory Within Us
Earth, water, and wood are essences of the territory, capable of conveying the importance of understanding where we live and how we relate to the natural environment. This installation explores the water systems of the Americas, highlighting the importance of water and our connection to the land. A light, prefabricated wooden structure stretches through space using tension and balance, symbolizing harmony with nature. Through cartographic representations, the exhibition presents major river basins and focuses on water-related issues in Quito and Chicago. It invites reflection on where water comes from, where it goes, and how we care for it. The project emphasizes environmental awareness, cultural heritage, and the need to live in balance with nature. Hand-drawn maps and thoughtful design offer a way to see the land more clearly and understand water as a vital, shared resource.
