Make New History
Vision
Held from September 16, 2017, to January 7, 2018, the second iteration of the Biennial, “Make New History,” was curated by Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee, of architecture practice JohnstonMarklee. The exhibitions and programs explored how contemporary architects engage with historical narratives and architectural traditions, examining the resurgence of interest in historical references within architecture, and focused on the ways in which architects interpret historical materials, regulations, and social conventions in their work.
