Vision

Launched in 2015, the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial – “The State of the Art of Architecture” – took its title from a 1977 conference organized by architect Stanley Tigerman, which invited leading creative voices to Chicago to discuss the current state of the field. This groundbreaking edition was curated by Artistic Directors Sarah Herda, Director of the Graham Foundation and current CAB Co-Chair of the Board of Directors, and British architect, critic, curator and editor Joseph Grima. Over 100 participants from more than 30 countries, included:
