The expansive program of exhibitions and public events will activate venues and sites across the city and suburbs, inviting visitors from near and far to experience bold ideas and inspired design. Here’s everything you need to plan your Biennial experience.

Getting to Chicago

Chicago is one of the most accessible cities in the world, with two major airports:

O’Hare International Airport (ORD): Located about 17 miles northwest of downtown, O’Hare offers direct flights from across the globe.

Midway International Airport (MDW): Located 10 miles southwest of downtown, Midway is a convenient option for domestic flights and select international destinations.

Both airports connect easily to the city by public transit, taxi, or rideshare.

Getting Around

Chicago is known for its walkable neighborhoods and excellent public transportation.

CTA (Chicago Transit Authority): The “L” train system and bus network connect nearly every corner of the city.

Metra: For regional rail service from surrounding suburbs.

-Biking and Walking: Chicago is bike-friendly, with Divvy bike-share stations across the city.

-Rideshare & Taxis: Readily available throughout the city.

Most Biennial sites are easily accessible via public transit and located in neighborhoods across the greater Chicago area.
