On Architecture
Santiago, Chile
On Architecture is an online audiovisual archive of architecture, founded in 2012 by Chilean architects and academics Felipe De Ferrari and Diego Grass. It offers a critical panorama of emerging and established authors, works, experiences, and issues related to architecture, urban design, and the built environment. Since 2008, it has compiled a collection of building portraits and interviews with architects, artists, curators, researchers, landscape architects, and urban designers from around the world. On Architecture understands architecture as a common field of knowledge and is today the largest audiovisual architecture archive available, with over 700 videos online. Their videos have been featured in Solo Galerie (Paris), Swiss Architecture Museum (Basel), Toto Gallery (Tokyo), 16th International Architecture Exhibition (Venice), 12th International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo, arc en rêve (Bordeaux), Casa da Arquitectura (Porto, 2023), Kunstverein Bielefeld (Bielefeld), and Harvard University Graduate School of Design (Boston), among other institutions and venues.
2025 Biennial Project
Project Overview
Time to change
This project explores how architecture can be a tool for everyone—not just professionals—to shape the places where we live, work, and gather. Through a series of mechanisms, devices, and structures, it reflects on how we interact with our environments and the changes we can make, no matter the community, culture, or political context. The work encourages visitors to imagine architecture as shared knowledge with the power to inspire action and create meaningful change.
