Lacol Cooperative Architecture

Barcelona, Spain
Lacol is a non-profit cooperative of architects founded in 2014 in the neighborhood of Sants, in Barcelona. They aim to generate community infrastructures for the sustainability of life, as a key tool for the eco-social transition, through architecture, cooperativism and participation. Their activity is based on a horizontal system of labor, embracing Architecture, Housing policies, Energy Transition and Construction Management, blurring the limits of the different disciplines to define a cross-sectional and participative approach.
Their collective work has been recognized and exhibited locally and internationally, including the Mies van der Rohe Award (Emergent Category, 2022), Moira Gemmill Prize (The Architectural Review Women in Architecture Awards, 2021), and the Venice Biennale of Architecture, How will we live together? (2021), among others.
