Rye Park by Anthony Alcantar and Isabel Chavez
A Pocket Park is a small park that are regularly placed in urban spaces or vacant lots. In Chicago, there is a large amount of vacant lots but there are a lot of issues and opportunities into building something on them.
Our plan is to place a pocket park where there are a lot of children and parents in the community and make sure that the children can have a place where they can enjoy their after school day by doing physical activities. What we also want to do is bring in the people from the community and give them a safe and secure environment. We want to make the community more inviting so you can feel safe and invited, because from our own experience we know that by the looks of something you can’t decide whether it’s safe or not for your loved ones. Our plan is to make the community look better.
