1st Place | Mini Golf Learning Center (MGLC) by Alejandro Camarena Marques and Violeta Ponce Maldonado
The Mini Golf Learning Center (MGLC), is a place to have fun, and a place to learn about the history and architecture of Chicago. This place can become a 24/7 fundraiser, donating all its profits to Pilsen schools Architecture program. It is also a simple, fun place where elders can experience the whole view of the city in a small area. There isn’t much walking around for the elders to get tired but enough to get exercise. Pilsen needs this area because it needs more places where people can visit and tour. The benefit of having this nice area is that it helps keep kids off the streets and safe from dangerous people as there are many bars in the Pilsen neighborhood. It’s a nice area where corporations can rent it for get-together and could be beneficial for the MGLC as it will donate all the profits to their architectural programs.
The vacant lot is spotted at 903 W 18th Street in Pilsen. When you walk in MGLC you will see the sign-in post where you can pay a dollar to enter. I will be filled with 15 stages and replicas of the famous Chicago buildings and architecture such as the Sears Tower, John Hancock building, Cloud Gate, Wrigley and Soldier Field, Riverwalk, and the BP Pedestrian Bridge. MGLC is a drug-free, alcohol-free, and a no-smoking zone area. If using gas or electricity solar powered. We want to make sure that everyone is safe and having fun!
