Open Air Rooms: Mediterranean Architecture from Malaparte to Contemporary World
November 21, 2017 - January 8, 2018
Opening November 21, 6-8 pm

This exhibition consists of 15 architecture collages by Italian architect Cherubino Gambardella. It explores the Villa Malaparte, a house on Punta Massullo, on the Eastern side of the Isle of Capri, one of the best examples of Italian modern architecture. Casa Malaparte sits on a dangerous cliff 32 meters above the sea overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Its interior and exterior (particularly the rooftop patio) are prominently featured in Jean-Luc Godard's 1963 film, Contempt (Le Mépris).
